I feel like I looked up from my computer and all of a sudden it was June. I spent Memorial Day Weekend in Portugal (my new happy place) eating and exploring my way through the wonderful city of Lisbon and surrounding seaside towns. And it really got me thinking.
Ever notice how there are two kinds of people in this world: those who live to work and those who work to live? As popular mentality would have it, people spend the best years of their lives working their butts off so they can be happy in the end. But what if we didn’t save happiness for the end? What if we prioritized a work/life balance and allowed ourselves to enjoy that happiness now when we’re arguably at our best, mentally and physically? Then in the end, the happiness you attain is because you let yourself live a lifetime when you did.
Live to work or work to live. What bucket do you fall into? What bucket do you want to fall into?
This month’s content puts the focus back on you. We look into: how to increase your productivity at work with these hacks of gold; the facts on why water should be your #1; the best house plants for everything from filtering your air and improving your mood; our round-up of the best summertime reads for your commute and the beach; the best weekend adventures when you need to get out of the city; and more.
We also added some new pieces (including wearable reminders in sterling silver!) so if you haven’t yet, be sure to head on over to the shop and check it out.
Lastly, as we head into a new month, I want to share some wise words from Lena Dunham:
Make a fatty to-do list and hit that sh*t hard.
