When it comes to beach necessities, things like SPF and lip balm are obvious but it is hard to determined what’s really “the best” when everyone has different needs and brand loyalties. That being said, there are things that we always seem to be in the market for. Here is what we will be prioritizing this summer.
BEACH BLANKET OR TOWEL
If you hate drying off with sandy towels, always bring a beach blanket to lay on and use your towel as a pillow instead to keep it sand-free. Whatever your preference is, choose one that stands out so you’re able to spot it easily when you go for a dip or a walk, like this one.
BLING
You wear jewelry doing more active things than laying on the beach all day so why take off your everyday statements? We prefer simple jewelry like these studs that won’t get lost in the ocean or thin-band rings that won’t get stuck when your fingers swell in the heat (sad reality). Just remember that real gold and sterling silver take to water better than other metals or plated pieces.
BEACH ATTIRE
Sometimes it’s not quite beach weather and you only want to tan your bottom half (or top). Or sometimes plans change and your beach day turns into an unexpected hiking adventure or happy hour at a friend’s aunt’s house. Our point is sometimes you wish you were better dressed for the occasion and weren’t wearing the obvious cover-up or tunic. These shorts are about as rad as it gets (with aloha print and pom poms). Pair them with a loose fitting top like this chambray button-down and you are ready for just about any kind of day.
BATHING SUIT
We love seeing people prioritize styles that truly celebrate their bodies over the pattern or color of a suit. Confidence is half the battle right? Swimsuits with cut outs, unconventional straps, and other interesting details are total showstoppers and match nicely with our favorite cheeky Brazillian cut bottoms.
SHOES
When summer life calls for real shoes, we still think espadrilles prove to be the perfect summer wear-with-all for any occasion. Patterned or plain, flat or wedged- there’s something for everyone. A pair of these will make your summer wardrobe.
BEACH BAG
So what about the stuff that actually goes into your beach bag? We somehow manage to collect more beach bags than we could ever need each year and nothing beats a standard tote. And the problem of no internal pockets is easily solved by a zipper pouch to hold things you’d rather not have floating around in your bag or come in contact with sand (like your phone, keys, lip balm, etc.). Be a hero and have a portable speaker on hand as well as a camera– your phone is great but nothing beats instant film. And have a water bottle on you (what you choose to stay hydrated with is your choice). Finally, don’t forget to pack your sunnies. We just ordered these and am counting down the days until they arrive.
What else are we missing? Do you have any good finds on your list? Leave a comment below so we can check it out!
