If you’ve poked around the site recently, you’ve probably noticed the new pieces that we’ve added to our line (didn’t catch them? Go ahead- check right now!). Anytime we release something new, you can imagine the excitement, relief, and nervousness leading up to launch. It has definitely been a process with the time it takes to design, produce, price out, style, and shoot each piece. But it’s all worth it. We’re thrilled about how these all turned out and the response so far has been overwhelming. So mucho, mucho, mucho thanks to you guys.
Like all of our pieces, the newest additions reflect the urban island aesthetic that Kalaki Riot is known for. It’s easy to put myself as the designer into each and every piece when everything is made locally by hand right here in New York City. We choose to use recycled metals to produce our pieces and because of the quality of craftsmanship that goes into making each one, you can be sure that you’re investing in something that will stay with you for the long haul. Sure, fast fashion jewelry is cheaper but that price tag reflects a low-grade quality not made to last very long and perhaps overseas processes that may not be the most ethical either. These are things we prioritize in our work and know our customers appreciate too.
We have a bunch of upcoming adventures in these next couple of months from Puerto Rico to the USVIs to Hawaii and a bunch in between. That’s a lot of island culture to bring back to our urban oasis here in Manhattan so you can bank on plenty of new inspiration, photos, and posts to come. Stay tuned.
